Tshering Dorji | Team Leader
Tshering used to be a jack of trades. He had delved into road construction, trading, a tyre shop, exports, agriculture and even became a travelling salesman. He worked through all these experiences and finally found his calling in the tourism sector where he enjoyed meeting people from all parts of the world. And this is how he found his calling and this made him happy. To carry forward his labor of love "Bhutan Scenic Tours" came into being in 1995. Tshering is at the helm of affairs to ensure that everything is in clockwork precision. He is an avid outdoorsman and an active athlete, he still participates in 5 marathons every year, few trek expeditions and a couple of bike races too.. Tshering is also the leader on most of of our scheduled departure group cycling tours in Bhutan.
Jigme Dema | Office Manager
Hails from the highlands of Lhuentse. She is a proficient multi-tasker and ensures that the flights are booked, accounts maintained properly and that everything is ambient in the office. She also brews the best chai in the office.
Tandin Dorji | Tour Leader
Tandin used to be a fitness junkie who has now evolved into an avid mountain biker. When not hiking, biking, touring or trekking he quietly spends his leisure raising his 2 kids and helping the Mrs manage the home.
Namga | Tour Leader
With 25 years of guiding experience and few hundred trips, Namga is an amiable person. He is also the senior most parent in our office. Namga is a proud father of 2 boys and 2 girls. When not on tours Namga assists the office with reservations and fine tunes the operational aspects of our trips.
Rinzi | Tour & Trek Leader
Rinzi had bagged the first spot in the annual guides examinations few years ago. He is an aspiring photographer, hiker and a biking enthusiast. He got married few years ago and has since then sobered down and also quit drinking that occasional beer.
Wangdi | Tour & Trek Leader
The younger Wangdi is a perfect companion on tours. Our customers traveling with children have also come back from their trips with raving comments on his baby sitting skills. He like to tinker with all things mechanical and as far as we know the only thing he has fixed is thumb tack on our notice board.
Tashi Phuntsho | Tour & Trek Guide
Tashi studied at a monastery in his teens and is a repository of Buddhism. He also embodies the passion of showing the clients a fantastic time in Bhutan. He is also a hiker and routinely treks the mountains in search of the elusive yeti.
Ugyen alias UT | Tour, Trek & Bike Guide
UT hails from the far east of the country. He is a dedicated team-member and has an eye for detail as well. He enjoys singing and it is quite normal of him to belt out few folk songs while on the drives, rides and trails.
Kinley | Bike Guide & Mechanic
Kinley has been with us for over a decade and we have seen him progress and make forays into all things “bicycle’ Like other members of our team he is equally passionate about his roles and responsibilities. Kinley manages our cycle fleet of 32 bikes and ensures that our cycling equipment is ready, maintained and ready for the exhilarating rides.
Tsedup | Trek Manager
Truly a friend of the mountains, Tsedup is backed by over 15 years of trekking all over the Bhutan Himalayas. Tsedup prepares the provisions, camp equipment’s and logistics for all our trek, expeditions and camping. He knows every short cut in the eastern himalayas of Bhutan and networks with most of our highlanders as well.
Dorji | Trek Chef
Our high altitude chef works up a culinary delight at any elevation. Self taught in the culinary arts he is constantly conjuring up delicacies for the clients and team. He is quite sensitive therefore please be sure to thoroughly enjoy his seven course delicacies on the trails. He is also ever ready to sing the songs of the mountain deities.
Kinzang Dorji | Transport
A retired policeman, Kinzang is a meticulous person and ensures that all our vehicles are well maintained, clean and comfortable. He has driven on all roads in the country and claims to have logged a million miles.
Lhab Tshering | Transport
Lhab Tshering is also with the transport fleet. When not busy he farms his ancestral rice fields. His humble demeanour is an attribute that the guests like most about him besides his incessant laughter whenever he hears a good joke.
Lekden | Tour Guide
Lekden majored in Anthropology from the prestigious East Oregon University in the USA and returned home to learn more about his people. He found the perfect job that enables him to not only learn but also share the ancient traditions and the living culture of his country.
Tsering K Rigzang | Mascot
If you hear a little girl in the background when you are speaking to us on the phone it is most likely that you have just heard the youngest member of our team. Rigs ensures that the office is not stressed and also sometimes occupies the team with her summons ranging from a piggy back ride to reading a storybook.
