Bhutan Travel Updates
Bhutan has been maintaining some of the highest standards for the prevention of Covid 19. We remain ever grateful to our benevolent Kings enlightened leadership and compassion for keeping us out of harms way. His Majesty the King has personally been at the frontlines ever since the start of the global outbreak two years ago, this has ensured the wellbeing of the people during the pandemic as well as effective protocols to safeguard the country. We have also managed to achieve an impressive 90% vaccine coverage (double and triple vaccinated) of our population owing to our conscientious authorities. These factors have resulted in minimal transmission and higher recovery rates in comparison to other countries.
As the world slowly transitions from the pandemic, we are beginning to see hopeful signs on the horizon. People have also started to rediscover the joys of traveling, with relaxation of restrictions in most parts of the world the tourism industry is also beginning to show encouraging signs of getting back on track. Since tourism is vital for our economy and as it is directly responsible for the livelihood of many Bhutanese like the team at Bhutan Scenic Tours, we eagerly look forward to the road ahead with renewed hope and much optimism.

This is to inform the public that the five-day facility quarantine for all incoming travelers will be lifted ๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ซ๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐, ๐๐๐๐.
"While we acknowledge the implications and inconveniences the arrangement has caused to the travelers so far, it was intended to reinforce and protect our country and communities from COVID-19, which is still in the โpandemicโ stage. Since the transition into Phase II, we have continuously seen a low positivity rate (1.46 percent) and promising trends of zero fatalities and hospitalisation until date.
Therefore, taking into consideration these positive developments, a new arrangement of โ๐๐๐ฌ๐ญ-๐๐ง๐-๐๐จโ system (mandatory stay home/hotel quarantine for 24 hours or until negative RT-PCR result is declared) will be instituted effective from ๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐, ๐๐๐๐ where the stay home/hotel duration will be strictly monitored.
Upon arrival at the point of entry, while ๐๐-๐๐๐ test sample will be collected, a proof of vaccination certificate or evidence of COVID-19 infection in the six months prior to the visit will have to be produced. Anyone testing positive will be required to self-isolate for five days at home/hotel.
As we cautiously move forward, vaccination and booster will be a critical tool in our collective effort to end the pandemic.
This is a significant milestone in the country's fight against the pandemic. From the non-compromising 21-day to 14-day to five-day quarantine system, and now being able to do away with it completely is a feat we have all achieved together. It has served the purpose of securing the nation from the disease and its multiple variants.
