This year his photography tour is heading into Central Bhutan to visit some very remote festivals. We’ll be enjoying some beautiful moments along the way, with the expert guidance of Ewen Bell and Ian Rolfe.

Bhutan Birding Tour | Birdwatching in Bhutan

The different variations of altitude, climatic zones, vegetation and topography within a small land mass like ours offers ample opportunities to see and admire ( and photograph) a wide range of birds. Every year new species continue to be spotted to our delight. We have the requisite experience and expertise to take you to close to the many different kinds of birds and also help you fill up your check list. We offer trips of any duration and programs can be customized to suit your time in our part of the Himalayas.

Seasons

Bhutan has four distinct seasons, each season has its own character and charm. Our small Kingdom is an year-round destination therefore it is entirely up to you to decide on your travel period that befits your schedule and convenience.

Hike to the Sacred Chumphu Nye

The sacred Chumphu Nye lies ensconced in the north eastern frontiers of the Paro valley (2250m). Owing to the 14km of hiking and the off-the-grid aspect there are multiple occasions when you have the entire trail for yourself amidst the tranquil forests, the trail is accessed by a 30 minute drive from Paro center followed by a 4 hour hike through foliage of pine, oak and rhododendrons. The trail dotted with multiple sacred sites runs parallel to the crystal clear dho chu river which nurtures the fertile rice fields of the Shari and Doteng communities. The walk is flat with minimal gradient until the last section of the trail at a bridge located at the base of the hill on which Chumphu sits.

The Snowman Trek

Regarded as the most difficult trek in the world, the snowman trek still inspires and continues to awe many intrepid trekkers. It is also said that more people have summited everest than have successfully completed the snowman trek. This abridged version of the Snowman Trek is an extension of the beautiful laya / gasa trek and leads from laya into the remote highlands of the bhutanese himalayas before emerging back into civilization.

Gross National Happiness

Economists the world over have argued that the key to happiness is obtaining and enjoying material development. Bhutan however, adheres to a very different belief and advocates that amassing material wealth does not necessarily lead to happiness. Bhutan tries to measure progress not by the popular idea of Gross Domestic Product but by through Gross National Happiness.

Australia - Bhutan Friendship Offer

The year 2018 is a special occasion for the Kingdom of Bhutan and Australia as it marks 15 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

To commemorate this happy occasion, the Royal Government of Bhutan is pleased to present the “Bhutan – Australia Friendship Offer” to welcome all nationals of Australia to visit Bhutan in 2018.

The Sinchula Trail

There is no denying that the healing powers of nature-therapy is absorbed to the brim in places and trails forgotten by the ravages of time. The Sinchula trail is one such trail where tranquility and luxuriant environment reigns supreme.

Motorcycling in the Himalayas

The heightened senses, purr of the engine, shifting scenery, the in control feel and the wind behind our backs is a great way to enjoy the picturesque landscape, negotiate the mountainsides, ascend our high mountain passes and inhale that  pure himalayan pine scented breeze.
